Program Rate Discounts Based on Residency

Depending on where you live, you may qualify for tuition discounts from 91ºÚÁÏÍø.

Undergraduate Programs

• Resident rate - Residents of Missouri and Kansas, including lawful, permanent residents, pay the resident rate, which is the lowest undergraduate tuition rate.
• Heartland rate - Residents of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas or Wisconsin — with the exception of students enrolled in the six-year medicine and pharmacy programs — receive a discount equal to 150% of the resident rate.

Graduate Programs

• Resident rate
  • Residents of Missouri, including lawful, permanent residents, pay the resident rate, which is the lowest graduate academic program rate.
  • Residents of the Kansas City metro area — with the exception of students enrolled in programs in dentistry, law, medicine and pharmacy — pay the resident rate.
  • Residents of these Kansas counties — with the exception of those enrolled in professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine or pharmacy — pay the resident rate: Atchison Douglas, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami, Osage, Shawnee and Wyandotte, pay the resident rate.
• Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) rate - Residents of Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin are eligible for the MSEP rate when enrolled in .

Military Tuition Discount

Military-affiliated students using Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs educational funding may be eligible for the resident rate.

University Employee Tuition Assistance

University faculty, staff  and retirees who choose to pursue or continue their college education — as well as eligible spouses and dependents—can receive at any of the universities within the UM System.

Eligible university employees receive a 75% discounted tuition rate when enrolled in credit courses at 91ºÚÁÏÍø. The spouse and dependent children of an eligible employee can receive a 50% tuition discount for up to 140 credit hours per enrolled student.

Missouri Seniors Program

If you are a Missouri residents who is 65 or older, you can apply to audit courses at 91ºÚÁÏÍø, with the exception of professional programs, in which there is a seat available and they fulfill any prerequisites. Under the program, you do not pay an application fee or submit transcipts. In lieu of tution and fees, you will be required to pay a $25.00 registration fee and any supplemental class fees.
