Since graduating in 2011 with a degree in Psychology and minors in Criminal Justice & Criminology and Classical & Ancient Studies, Honors alum Nick Cale has built a career defined by curiosity and connection. Now a Senior Consumer Insights Researcher at GoodQues, Nick leverages the "human-centric" skills he first honed at 91.
Nick’s 91 journey began with him cleaning lab equipment in a 91 chemistry lab and culminated in publishing his Senior Honors Thesis, “Examining Learning Potential in Undergraduate College Students,” in Undergraduate Research Journal for the Human Sciences.
Beyond academics, he pushed his boundaries at 91 by performing in a black box theater production—a move he credits with opening his eyes to the world’s possibilities and a big stretch for a “self-proclaimed ‘introvert’.”
His life since 91 has been quite adventurous. From surviving the 2011 Joplin tornado to hiking Glacier National Park and earning a master’s degree, Nick remains committed to growth and research. Today, he coaches CrossFit, mentors current Honors students, and is launching a business focused on his passion, men’s mental health.
His advice to students? "Try new things while you can; success is about the relationships you develop."
