Eleven articles were chosen representing the STEM, Humanities, and Social Science categories with topics as varied as the experiences of women during the Civil War, alternative voting systems, and the metaphors associated with economics discourse.
The staff, led by editor-in-chief Lilah Crum-Barnhill, produced the longest issue in the journal’s history while updating procedures and streamlining processes to help future staffs.

“It’s a truly remarkable feat to produce such a high-quality journal,” faculty advisor Dr. Marcus Meade said, “while also updating how Lucerna works. They had only one returning staff member, and yet, they produced an excellent book and set up future staffs for success.”
The Lucerna team capped off this publication cycle with their 20th annual symposium. Speaking to a packed room, three of the published authors presented on their work with a wonderfully engaged Q&A session following.
The event saw the return of a few past editors-in-chief and even a member of the original Lucerna staff from 2006.
